Warm Data are contextual and relational information about complex systems. In other words, warm data involve transcontextual information about the interrelationships that integrate a complex system, as well as interwoven complex systems. Warm Data Labs are group processes, which illustrate interdependency and generate understandings of systemic patterns for people with no previous exposure to systems theory. Warm Data Labs enable new societal responses to complex challenges.

Warm Data Labs are new approaches to addressing the complexity of multiple interacting i. Warm Data Labs have been taking place around the world in a wide variety of contexts including technology, government, education, social and psychological services, medical services, and groups and organizations concerned with environmental issues. Previous participants consider Warm Data Labs to be essential to the processes of change in living and social systems. Warm data labs provide insights into the nature and dynamics of complex living systems, which in turn allow us to begin unraveling the interdependencies that characterize these systems. Such interdependencies are often embedded in emotions, aesthetics, values, and other aspects of our ways of knowing.

I feel it is time to let this cat out of the bag so to speak, and let Warm Data be real. This blog post is an introduction to my work on Warm Data so far. Next week I will host one in San Francisco Subject: Addiction, to substance, behavior, nuclear weapons, and ideas of society that are continued even though they are harmful. Stockholm, Sweden Subjects: immigration, education, economy and cryptocurrency. Singapore Subject: the complexity of intimacy and consent!! Very excited about this one. Regenesis Subject: investment in the health of society and the biosphere. In my opinion the most important task in this moment is to generate a base of people who are eager to practice perceiving the complexity and interdependency in every aspect of their lives. If I could wish for one thing it would be a big grant to do this work around the world, to train others to do it and create a cross-sector community of people who have a new tool, a new vocabulary and most importantly, each other… to meet the challenges of this era i.
This enlivening day will introduce the Warm Data Lab, a cutting-edge process for initiating and managing change. Warm Data Labs are group exercises that help our ability to collectively perceive, discuss, and research complex issues.
